  • Artemios Ventouris Roussos(Alexandrië, 15 juni 1946 – Athene, 25 januari 2015) was een Grieks zanger en basgitarist.

    Hij werd geboren in Egypte als zoon van Griekse ouders die alles verloren na de Suezcrisis in 1956 en daarop naar Griekenland terugkeerden. In Griekenland was Roussos lid van een aantal groepen als The Idols, We Five en Aphrodite's Child alvorens een solocarrière te beginnen.

    Roussos is als gast te horen op een aantal albums van Vangelis, een van de bandleden van Aphrodite's Child.

    Zijn solocarrière vertoonde een piek in de jaren 1970-80 met een aantal hits waarvan de singles My Friend the Wind en Forever And Ever (1973) hoog genoteerd stonden in verschillende landen. Hij scoorde in december 1973 in Nederland een nummer 1 hit met Schönes Mädchen aus Arcadia.

    Dear friend ,
    I was shocked when I heard the news and I was in denial for days, playing your records one after the other for 4 days over and over again. A few years ago I went with my wife to a concert of you in Oostendse Belgium it was so beautiful and so wonderful to see and hear you live singing, we promised our self's to go and see you again if. You would come to do a concert again somewhere in the near by. Al we can say to you now is Goodbey my friend goodbye , let your spirit fly with your friend the wind until one day somewhere we will meet again

    Zonder het te beseffen werd ik geïnspireerd door de klavecimbel en door de byzantijnse muziek. Zo ontdekte ik de Aprodite's Child en nog later jou Demis. Ook al vond ik niet alle liedjes geslaagd toch verwarmde jouw stem mijn hart keer op keer. Bedankt voor die mooie momenten. Ze zullen steeds in mijn gedachten aanwezig zijn zo lang ik leef. Goodbye Mister Roussos. RIP.
